Biggest advantage of this light is the balance between brightness and run time. There are brighter lights out there, but they typically have an hour or less run time and the Lithium batteries will cost you $10 per refill. There are lights that last as long or longer, but aren't even 25% as bright as the Blooudhound. The Bloodhound is the best choice for following a blood trail at night; intensely bright and illuminates the blood very well.

Bought the bloodhound flashlight last year for hunting. My husband used it & he said while he was walking through the woods it would start blinking. I finally tried it when we went on our elk viewing trip last week. He's right. It starts switching without pushing the button. Not good for walking through the woods at 5 AM. I'm on my 2nd mini bloodhound & love it. If you could add video to this I'd put it on to show how it changes

I use it to return from my deer stand.
                Really punches through the dark.
Not much for a "perimeter light",
but a really bright "focused" beam.

I recently purchased a 9299 Bloodhound flashlight. The product specs indicate 3 power settings. How is this achieved? All I can find is on/off.

Every time you push the power button it should cycle through each light setting.

Each click of the power button should bring you through a rotation of each power level - high, low, emergency strobe, and off. Please email us at customerservice@deergear.com if you have any further issues.
