I was heading to Wisconsin for ice fishing the first time a few years ago. I ran across a pair of Arctic Sheild pants on a clearance rack in a local store and picked them up. These were the level 1 warmth rating. I sat for 5 hrs on the ice with only a thin pair of longjohns, jeans, and the pants. I NEVER got cold. I was so impressed that this last year I purchased their Ice Fishing suit which was incredibly warm. This set is a level 3 warmth just like my suit. Lightweight is a big deal when hunting and the thickness/ weight ratio of these clothes is amazing. I am looking forward to purchasing the parka to go with my pants and maybe even the bibs. I believe in this material that much!! You won't be disappointed.

I purchased one of these jackets for my wife to use for hunting as she gets cold every easy. She loved it. So I purched a jacket and bibs for my self. Once the temp got below 35 degrees she was cold to the point that she wouldn't hunt. The carry straps broke the first time she used them.
I purchased my items before my wife had any problems. I hunt in whatever weather conditions are on my days off and I hunt from October thru February in the Finger Lakes. After getting wet and cold on an evening hunt in December 2011 I had to wear a light rain jacket over this H9 jacket. Wearing a light rain jacket over this H9 it became very warm. I even have to leave it unzipped as i get to hot and this is in 25 degrees and 15-20mph winds.
I'm 6'2" so i ordered an XL tall and it is tight in the shoulders and short in the sleeves. I would recommened ordering a size larger.
My wifes jacket is going to be returned for a refund and mine exchanged for a 2x tall.

I am a small female and love to hunt. I have owned arctic shield for several years but was wearing a mens medium which was bulky and kept getting hung up on everything.. This is the first arctic shield jacket that I have found in a small. Plus it is lightweight. This jacket is thinner and just as warm as the previous arctic shield i had.. I would recommend it to anyone that wants to stay warm in the woods..

The jacket does what it says - keeps you warm but I should have paid attention to the other reviews as I will need to return for a larger jacket...they just need to add a little more room to the sizes.

I have the 2010 Model H9 Jacket and the re-tain only extends down to the elbow on the sleeves. On cold windy days my forearms get cold. Does the current H9 include re-tain all the way down to the wrist?
